Terms of Service — Jurni

1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Jurni ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
Jurni is a trip planning application that helps you organize itineraries, share trips with others, track expenses, and store travel documents. The App stores data locally on your device and optionally syncs via Apple's iCloud.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to use this App. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
4. Account and Authentication
Jurni requires Sign in with Apple to use the App. By signing in, you agree to Apple's terms for Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Apple ID.
5. User Content
5.1 Your Data
You retain full ownership of all content you create in the App, including trip details, activities, documents, photos, expenses, and polls. We do not claim any rights to your content.
5.2 Shared Trips
When you share a trip with others via iCloud sharing:
- You grant trip participants access to view and (if permitted) edit the shared trip data
- You can revoke access at any time by removing participants
- Other participants may add, edit, or delete content within shared trips according to their permission level
- You are responsible for the content you contribute to shared trips
5.3 Acceptable Use
You agree not to use shared trips to distribute content that is illegal, abusive, or violates the rights of others.
6. Data and Privacy
Your use of the App is also governed by our Jurni Privacy Policy. By using the App, you consent to our practices as described in the Privacy Policy.
We do not operate servers or store your data. All data is stored on your device and in your iCloud account, managed by Apple.
7. Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality of the App (excluding your user content) are owned by Borrowed Fire LLC and are protected by intellectual property laws.
8. Disclaimers
8.1 Information Accuracy
The App is a planning tool. Flight times, train schedules, and other travel information you enter are your responsibility to verify. The App does not connect to external data sources to validate travel information.
8.2 No Warranty
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted access.
8.3 iCloud Availability
Sync and sharing features depend on Apple's iCloud service. We are not responsible for iCloud outages, sync delays, or data loss caused by iCloud issues.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Borrowed Fire LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:
- Loss of trip data or documents
- Missed flights, trains, or reservations due to app errors
- Incorrect expense calculations
- iCloud sync failures or data conflicts
- Any other intangible losses
Our total liability for any claims arising from your use of the App shall not exceed $50 USD.
10. Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time from the App's Settings. This removes your local profile and authentication data. Trip data can be removed by deleting the App or disabling iCloud sync for Jurni.
11. Modifications
11.1 To the App
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App (or any part thereof) at any time without prior notice.
11.2 To These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the App or by updating this page. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
12. Termination
We reserve the right to discontinue the App or any features at any time. Your locally stored data remains accessible on your device regardless of App availability.
13. Indemnification
You agree to hold harmless Borrowed Fire LLC and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your misuse of the App, violation of these Terms, or content you share through the App.
14. Dispute Resolution
14.1 Informal Resolution
Before filing any formal dispute, you agree to contact us first and attempt to resolve the matter informally for at least 30 days.
14.2 Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
14.3 Jurisdiction
Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts located in New York, New York, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
15. General Provisions
15.1 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
15.2 Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.
15.3 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Jurni Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the App.
